CantaBulgarian’s mentoring programme has been successfully running for five years now. We are proud of the increasing number of successful Bulgarian applicants and former and current students willing to provide mentoring.
This year we expanded our mentoring programme by visiting schools in Bulgaria and talking to students in the XI and X grade. The aim of the presentation is acquainting them with the opportunities that the University of Cambridge provides and the process of applying. Our goal is to bring information closer to students and encourage them to prepare and apply.
In December with the kind support of English Language School “Plovdiv” in Plovdiv, Bulgaria, we presented our programme to a group of students with various interests in undergraduate courses. The discussion included the following aspects of each application: the unique benefits of studying at Cambridge, choosing a course, choosing a college, funding opportunities and the different application components. The event finished with an open conversation about the process of applying at Cambridge as well as at other universities in the UK, the possibilities ahead of EU students in Britain after Brexit and the value of higher education in the context of specific career paths.
We were delighted to meet such bright and enthusiastic students and we look forward to meeting more at future events!
If your school is interested in a presentation to its students of the application process at Cambridge, please, let us know and we will do our best to try and arrange such an event. To do so, please, contact a member of the CantaBulgarian committee whose email addresses you will find at the Committee section of our website.
